Implants

A Permanent Way to Replace Missing Teeth

Dental implants, as a restorative solution, allow for the long-term aesthetic and functional recovery of teeth. They are made of strong, biocompatible materials and surgically placed in the jawbone to support a crown, bridge, or denture. This help maintain proper bite relations and enhance the comfort of chewing and speaking.
Implants are made to fit naturally with the existing teeth and are intended to last for many years if well-maintained. They feel secure and work like natural teeth, and are used readily for replacing one or more missing teeth.
None structure, as well as healthy gums, is essential for implants to be successful. This can be determined from the consultation at our Manly clinic.

What the Procedure Involves

Initially, a titanium post is placed into the bone, where it will later fuse. This site will need a healing period. Once healed, a customised crown is attached to the post. All steps are performed in-clinic in our modern dental rooms utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.
Healing times may differ from patient to patient, but we will provide you with complete instructions for the aftercare needed to minimise the healing period. When it has completely healed, your “tooth” will feel and look like a natural component of your smile.
The implants are way more comfortable than the removable options because the latter tends to move around or put pressure on the gums, whereas implants are much more stable.

Aftercare and Maintenance

Like natural teeth, implants need regular cleaning and care. Make sure to brush and floss daily, and book routine check-ups with us. We also monitor everything and may perform some cleaning around the implant site if necessary.
Apart from the teeth, we also review your gums and bone levels to ensure the implant does not lose stability with time. For patients who grind their teeth at night, we tend to recommend a night guard to protect your implants.
